Weddings are so fun for me because like fashion, I love the personal spin that gets put on them. You see the bride and grooms personalities come out in the details and it's truly amazing to see when you are a part of it. You may remember my last wedding post back in March when wedding season began for me. May rounded out wedding season for me as a bridesmaid this Spring, and I'm so happy to share my favorite memories and photos with you.
A month ago I got to watch one of my best friends marry her best friend, and it was everything I knew it would be! Leslie and I have been friends since the day we met, literally. I was riding the bus home one day in college, and a girl standing in the aisle was unknowingly hitting me in the head with her backpack. As I was ducking and dodging the swinging bag I heard snickering coming from across the aisle - insert Leslie.
Yes, I be-friened, best-friended and room-mated the girl that laughed at my misfourtune of seat choices, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Her stellar dance moves, wittiness and kind hearted soul are more than I could ask for in a friend over these past 8 years.
Typically I use my own personal photos for my blog posts, but as soon as I saw the set up of the reception I knew that there was no way I could capture every perfect detail that Leslie put into that evening. Alicia Pyne Photography did such a wonderful job capturing the personalization that Leslie put into her special day, and here are the moments I would like to share with you.
- "Perfect Mix" Snack Table: This was such a cute idea! On top of the adorable name and custom bags Leslie had made, who doesn't love a good snack table? As the night goes on and your dinner fades away as you frequent the dance floor, it was awesome to be able to head over to the snack table and fill a bag with delicious goodies!
- Wooden Bench Guestbook: This is such a great idea for a keepsake that doesn't get tucked away in a box like a traditional guestbook. Everyone was able to sign their names, write a quick note and this is something that can easily be displayed in their home and will remind them everyday of their special day!
- Loved One Memories: Weddings can be emotional when loved ones are not there to share that special day. There was a table set up at the reception with pictures in frames of every loved one that had passed and wasn't able to be there, such a sweet remembrance idea!
- Personalization: If you know Leslie, she loves her some monogram! Everything at the wedding was personalized from our bouquets, to the cake cutting utensils, to the koozies, I love it! Both Leslie and Justin's personalities shined through in each and every detail of the wedding. Leslie's grandfather even snuck in and placed burnt orange longhorns all over the reception before everyone showed up! He might be a slight longhorn fan upset about the Aggie color theme that Leslie had :)
Congrats to Leslie and Justin on their first month of marriage, and many more months to come!
